Multiple blasts have hit Mumbai this evening. Many thought the blasts were cylinders going off until they realised they were Improvised Explosive Devices.
The blasts took place in Dadar West, Zaveri Bazaar and the Opera House in Colaba.
The blast in Dadar was at a bus stop believed to have come from a car, whilst the blast at Zaveri Bazaar took place in a jewellery shop believed to be triggered off in an electricity meter box. The blast in the Opera House took place in Prashant chamber.
Mumbai has been placed on high alert. The city has been subject to many terror attacks in the past, the most high profile being the 26/11 attacks on the Taj and Oberoi hotels as well as Chabad House in Nariman Point.
The Home Ministry has confirmed this is a coordinated terrorist attack.
